What is the standard voltage for outdoor lighting?

Traditional or the most commonly used light sources are powered by 120 volt current. This is known as line voltage and is the standard current. When you plug something into an outlet, you are accessing this 120 volt current. Low-voltage lighting operates on a 12 volt current. This is similar to the amount of electricity used by a car battery. Twelve volt is much safer and more energy efficient.

Your home looks beautiful in the glow of sunlight, but it is hidden by the darkness of night. Put your landscaping in the spotlight of your neighborhood by installing night lighting. We will strategically place illumination to accent the most beautiful features of your home and lawn.

In May of 2008, my wife and I decided to explore the option of having accent lighting installed at our house. We talked to several companies and got ideas and pricing. We chose John Snyder because he actually came out to the house on two different nights and temporarily installed lighting to give us some idea as to how it would look. We were overwhelmed with the enthusiasm and expertise that John and all of his employees had. Our project turned out very nicely and we have since added more lighting several times. If we ever move, John will be the first one we call to light up our new house!
